Lansdale Historical Society

Resources available in the library and archives

The Lansdale Historical Research Center has an extensive collection of records and artifacts that predate the incorporation of Lansdale Borough in 1872.

The centerpiece of the center's collection is its newspaper archives, which include 133 years of Lansdale (North Penn) Reporter issues that are preserved in bound volumes, on microfilm, unbound in boxes, and on CD-ROM. Also included in the collection are volumes of the North Penn Republican and Review, and North Penn News, competitors of The Reporter.

Our collection, which is in the process of being data-based, also includes more than 100,000 negatives and slide images from The Reporter newspaper, as well as many century-old photographs and postcards depicting old-time Lansdale and vicinity that have been donated. Research Center

In addition, the Research Center includes high school yearbooks, tax records, old maps, data-based obituaries, family genealogies, business directories, county, regional and local histories, Lansdale Cemetery records and many more specialized documents.
